Ernesto Bazan - Heart and Soul: A rare gem in contemporary photography
From Palermo Italy, Ernesto became the youngest photographer to sign with Magnum. He has published several books and has had exhibitions worldwide. His photographs have been collected by numerous museums including The Museum of Modern Art. After years of journalism he settled in Cuba in 1992 with his wife and began to photograph Cuba from ‘the inside out’. The work vibrates with heart and soul. This body of work has given him the privilege to win some of the worlds most prestigious awards among them The W. Eugene Smith Grant, Mother Jones and The Guggenheim Foundation award among others.
Now, in 2008 he will be self publishing his book CUBA BAZAN and last stop is Boston! He will show his 5th and final dummy version. He will also take us on his life’s journey and reveal how he continues to find his passion. Since 2002 Ernesto has been teaching workshops with special emphasis in Latin America. There is not a student among them who does not save, dream and plan for the next workshop with Ernesto.
Come to this rare appearance and see one of the most passionate and prolific photographers of our time. Visit Ernesto's website.
